A Collective built on ensemble work.
Cabin Collective Studios is rooted in the tradition of ensemble work developed by The Group Theatre and carried forward through The Actors Studio.
Eight members of the collective are Lifetime Members of The Actors Studio.
This lineage has shaped generations of American acting, emphasizing truth, rigor, and collaboration.
They are joined by three seasoned film professionals whose work spans global production, cinematography, and socially driven storytelling.
Together, the collective brings experience from network television, off-Broadway, international theater, major motion pictures, and award-winning independent film into a single, shared process.
Not as separate roles.
As a collective.
What we made
In 2025, Cabin Collective Studios gathered at Crystal Lake for a six-day creative retreat.
Two months before arrival, five scripts were workshopped and developed. Over the course of six days, those scripts became films.
Written. Directed. Performed. Produced. On site.
Actors became directors.
Writers became producers.
Every artist contributed across disciplines.
The result was five distinct films exploring love, grief, identity, and transformation, all created under the same conditions of urgency, trust, and shared authorship.
Why this work exists now
We believe the most vital storytelling comes from artists working in community.
That is what this retreat is built to protect. A shared process outside of commercial pressure, where artists can take risks, work across disciplines, and make something honest.
At a time of political, social, and emotional urgency, this kind of work matters. We are living through a moment that calls for stories that stay close to what is human: connection, compassion, grief, love, and the ways people reach for one another when the ground shifts beneath them.
This is our response. Through the work.
Donate and help fund the next retreat
In 2026, the collective expands.
More artists. More art. More ambitious work.
Your support directly funds the retreat, production, and post-production needed to create our next project.
This is not sustaining something small.
It is building something that is growing.
